Welcome to Custom Picture Framing on Bay St. Owner Mallory Jackson opened her shop in February 1994. She has 18 years custom picture framing experience and says the key to her success with picture framing is due to her background in graphic design. Mallory was educated as a commercial artist and gained valuable experience in the care, handling and appreciation of valuable artwork while working for the Tacoma Art Museum.
“My customers know I am the one who greets them and cares for their treasures. I am there from beginning to end.” Mallory says. She specializes in shadow boxes and museum quality framing.
Mallory enjoys working with family heirlooms, old photos and memorabilia. She has dozens of completed shadow boxes on display in her shop, including her father’s military career box and a framed teacup with saucer from her childhood. “One of a kind framed family mementos make a wonderful gifts, very special!” Mallory says.
Custom Picture Framing on Bay St. carries only quality materials, including acid-free matting and mounting, Craig Ponzio Custom Frame Collection by Larson Juhl, conservation glass and clear reflection-free glass by Tru-Vue. The shop also offers many alternatives to traditional framing--oval, circular, and arched frames are available in a wide variety of sizes and finishes, along with convex glass.
