There is no mistaking the art work of Rie Muñoz--colorful, carefree, unpretentious, full-of-life and original--just like the Alaskans who are the subjects of so many of her watercolors.

Her artwork can best be described as expressionist. The term is applied to the works that reject camera snapshot realism and instead expresses emotion by distortion and strong colors.

Of the sixty to eighty watercolors Muñoz paints each year, only a handful are selected for release in limited edition print form.
